This year’s course of study covers the founding of our country up to the Civil War, as well as American civics. It includes units such as Colonial America, the American Revolution, American Government, American Civil War, and the American legal system. This course will provide you with an opportunity to understand the American political structure, processes and its evolution. You will be guided in developing the skills necessary to function effectively as a citizen in our democratic society. Overall, the objective of the course is to discover what it truly means to be an American.
