Author: The students read Jan Bratt’s The Mittten. They then discussed why animals hibernate. The students then discussed what animals might do to keep warm if they do not hibernate in the winter. We discussed if each animal in the story would normally hibernate in the winter. The students tried to think of ways the other animals might keep warm during the winter.
