Ms. Reichel’s Class – Monkey

After reading several books from Laura Numeroff’s If You Give a Mouse a Cookie series, the students in Miss Reichel’s class decided to write their own cause and effect tale. This version stars a monkey (of course!) who receives a pair of mittens. Get ready as the story comes to life with brightly colored illustrations and an upbeat soundtrack.

A New Friend For Fall – Ms. Reichel’s Class

On October 7, 2010, Miss Reichel’s class participated in Jumpstart to Read’s “Read for the Record” program. On this day, millions of people read Ezra Jack Keats’ The Snowy Day in both classrooms and homes. After reading the book, the students in Miss Reichel’s class wrote their own seasonal tale about an autumn friendship. The illustrations featured tissue paper collages which were modeled after Keats’ signature style. Enjoy the story and beautiful artwork!

A My Name Is Alice – Digital Story

After reading the book, A My Name is Alice by Jane Bayer, the students in Miss Reichel’s class wrote their own alphabet page for their names. Watch their words and illustrations come to life as their voices narrate this very silly alphabet book.

The Wolf and His Big, Bad Allergies

Miss Reichel’s class wrote this story as a pre-reading exercise before reading the book, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka. Using the underlined words as a guide, they created their own version of the classic fairy tale. The students then added illustrations and narration to bring their story to life. Enjoy!

Mrs. Sparling’s Class- Brian and the Three Ghosts

Our class used the story line from Goldilocks and the Three Bears to create their own story book titled Bryan and the Three Ghosts. This story is illustrated and narrated exclusively by the students and spans for 15 pages.
